Been giving some thought to changing the mufflers on my 96 Coupe, I want something with a little rumble to it but not as obnoxious as I used to run in high school ( a hundred years ago ) Don't want the drone syndrome either as that gets old real quick.....been thinking of a simple set of glass packs or flowmasters. I understand flowmasters have two different models with one louder than the other. Input ?

youtube the different corvette setups(lots of them on there) and listen with headphones for the sound your looking for and go with that.
i agree. Corsa exhaust systems and exhaust components are about the best money can buy for our cars...however, they are expensive..and i now have muffler eliminators from corvetta america
I put a set of Walker "Quiet Flow" mufflers on my stock 89. They are quiet, and probably have a stock sound I guess. They also eliminated that drone at highway speeds. Whether that is because of the design, or because the stock mufflers were full of broken bits, I don't know.
I know Flowmaster get alot of flack here. But I used to have an 81 with them that sounded really good with a low rumble. I hate that high pitch exhaust sound as well. Don't Corsa get kinda high pitched? It seems I remember so from some videos I've looked at in the past.
man ive been sorely tempted to go with glass packs, too. my family has used them on v8's since i was a little kid, and cant stop loving the sound!! it is deeply rooted in my psyche!
Corsa muffs are the best at eliminating resonance. If your car is otherwise stock(manifolds, resonator, and factory cats)I would consider the magnaflow axle back for a lot less money.
Another option is to remove the stock resonator(replace with an x-pipe or straight pipe)and try it with the factory mufflers first.
You can get the rear crossover pipe and it will kill allot of drone.
I have monza muffler eleminators and the rear cross over style cat back.
Only gets loud when i punch it, at idle and low speeds its too quite for me.
On cruise night all the mustangs and imports drown out my car.
I think im going with to get something allittle more loud.
Sometimes i come to a stop light and think my car has stopped its so quite.

As look for a new sound myself I am a little piffed at the price of mufflers for a Corvette. I know the Corvette tax, but that still aggravates me. For other cars you can get the same quality for half the price.
for the price I have narrowed it down to the KBD targas or Magniflow.
Funny as I was researching threads on this RedTornado showed up in almost every thread I looked through. he said he liked the KBDs as long as you get them in stainless.

put flowmaster 40's on my 96, as well as removed the muffler up front and ran straight pipes..so it has cats, and flow s at the rear..deep throaty sound, but you have to get use to the rumble inside..
Been in vette with Corsa system , THATS TOP OF THE LINE AND PROBABLY THE WAY YOU WANNA GO.. $$$$
