The float chargers are very safe.

I use a CTEK 3300 and I never take the battery out. The owners of the battery tender usually don't either unless its winter and that is your personal choice.

I always ground the negative to the frame of the car. In reality though the new chargers are very safe and don't really spark like the old ones. The reason you ground though is alot of the old manuals said so for safety reasons because the gas from battery can light if there ever was a spark etc.

Ctek says you really don't have to ground but for liability reasons its in the manual.

Awesome charger for $53. http://www.velocitymotorcars.com/cte...00-us7002.html

The CTEK battery charger is the finest battery charger anyone can buy for their car…we have looked all over for a high quality battery charger that will charge and maintain your car's battery, without having to worry about overcharging or ruining it ever again. CTEK manufactures three different models, offering a range of different coverage, and we are sure that you will find one that will fit your needs!

CTEK Sweden is proud to supply battery chargers and develop adapted solutions to some of the worlds most recognized car and motorcycle manufacturers in the world: Porsche, Mercedes, Maybach, Harley Davidson (Scandinavia), Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
