I know many of you have experienced problems with headlights that won't come up. I took my '88 into a body shop after Thanksgiving for a little body work on the front end. At the time, the left headlight didn't work so good...after a motor rebuild...but the right one worked perfectly. Now it's just the opposite. The body shop says they didn't touch the headlights. I don't seem to have any power to the right side...the motor doesn't try to run or anything although the light does come on. Any ideas?

Sounds like it's time for new bushings. http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...1&dept_id=1158

I got the brass gears and still have issues from time to time. But if I didn't get the brass gear I'm pretty sure the bushings would be done already. I'm so ready for non-pop up headlights....just need to win the lotto.

The other motor, in which I already replaced the bushings, at least whirred a little. This one doesn't appear to have electrical power to it.

Just get the bushings and suck it up and forget it. You'll be happier. Also you may want try a lighter bulb. I have heard that prolongs the life of the motor.

I guess I'll have to. Putting in those bushings is no fun. Thanks for the advice.
