Mine is the same way,my orange light is bright but my LCD numbers are very light.
I was told to replace or rebuild
Rebuilt will cost about 350
Used one will cost about 200( how long will that one last)??????
I pushed on the hole that has the recessed photo sensor and the speedometer lit up. I had pushed hard for about 20 seconds with my thumb, the hole was covered so that no lite was getting in. It went out once and i pushed on the same spot and it been working ever since. something must be loose in there or the photo sensor is shakey. the spot on the dash where i am pushing i am not really touching the sensor just maybe putting pressure on it by pushing that spot on the dash. What a relief. Can that sensor be replaced?

is that the hole next to the fuel and gage info and reset buttom??
Just to the right of the wheel
Only goes to show how each situation is different. Some guys tap the dash top three or four times with their fist. Others drive down a bumpy road. Glad you found the potential culprit.
