cool...I'm glad to see somebody restore this rather than have it end up in a scrapyard some where...good luck with the restore and looking forward to seeing updated pics when you get it home. I also own an 84 and it is absolutely my favorite car I've had..maybe except for my Firebird Formula 400...had when I was much younger...

You know John you could have used that money to make your first Vette faster. Congrats on the new Vette I was looking forward to a bronze flame job.

PSYCHE!!!
I never even got the chance to go to the track after our dyno-tunes we had last fall. I could be in the 12s... I just don't know.

It's going slow since it's been so cold. I have made some progress on it.
I picked up an exhaust for it, but still need to get mufflers. Scored a nice driver's seat back (bolster was gone on my original). Got a couple of lights replaced and new filters. Changing fluids. Got the pass door fixed (wouldn't open from outside, rod was laying on bottom of door)
Still need to get the digital dash working. Still having fun working on it.
Will paint the top-half and put on new emblems when the weather gets warm enough.
More pics coming soon.

Finally getting some pics posted. All of these are "Before" pics.
Got the exhaust on today. "Quiet" mufflers for 85-91 from Autozone, (only about $50 apiece). The pipes and converter don't have any holes anywhere, so I cut the flange off of the stock Y-pipe and welded the replacement pipe to it.
Took it for a drive tonight. Sounded decent, no resonance anymore.
I also got the passenger side window sweep replaced and got the hatch button working on that door, too. (WD-40)
Here are the pics.
After pics of my progress coming after I get the beast washed tomorrow.

There's one like that for sale here on CL for $4800. Looks in fair shape. I bought another blue 84 last summer to get the ZR1 wheels for my white 84. Put some stock wheels back on the blue car and sold it. I was afraid I couldn't support two of these!
Good luck on the project!

i like 84s! If i where you when its time to repaint id do the entire car the same color as the top half! Should be fun and when said and done u should have a good investment. 84s are sweet, u can get a basket for 4 a few grand, throw a little here and there into it and turn a good buck, I still see some guys up near 8 grand for thier clean 84s
