Default Objects in Mirror Appear Closer...

I got the "Objects in Mirror Are Losing" decals for the side windows and want to put them on.

My question is: Is there a way to take the stock words (Objects in Mirror Appear Closer...) off or are they on there permanently? I dont want to mess up the mirror or end up damaging the words and not getting it off...

Thanks!

I think they are etched on/in the glass, so the only way of removing them is a hammer.

I think they are actually required by law since the mirror is different. The decals I believe are designed to be used on the drivers mirror only.

Haha, ok, thanks guys....

I figured they were etched in but they are a little faded so I had some hope that they would come off...

I know, just a little humor with the Jurassic Park but I liked that decal also. Will it cover the factory words without being distorted? If it will the I want to purchase them also. I thought they would work with both mirrors. I have one on my rear view that says 'Caution Keep speed under 162 MPH'.

Haha, I like that one! I use the rear view mirror a lot (daily driver) so I dont want anything on it, but thats cool! I like the ones that cover the factory warning stickers that say "WARNING: This Corvette has an LT1 capable of 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds! For your safety HOLD ON!""

It will not cover the factory words, but they are on the passenger side only... Tell you the truth, there are no directions with it but I dont think I will have a problem...
If you look, the words are probably faded (it is on mine) so that gives me hope that it may come off...

Tomorrow I plan on doing a lot of stuff (oil change, maybe a quick wash, etc) but it is like 20 degrees so...

A quick search on google shows that it is Federal law to have the "objects" warning on the pass side mirror as it is convex and designed to be viewed differently than the drivers side. If the pass side was the same you would likely (according to the Fed website) have a major blind spot in the mirror. Hence the warning.

As I mentioned, I believe the neat decal should be used on driver side mirror only. JMO

So I went to put the "objects in mirror are losing" on the mirror, lined it up and cleaned the mirror real good and when I put it on the stupid thing is a sticker with a clear backing... I thought it would be like a vinyl... It looked horrible so I took it off.

Anyone have a vinyl version or are they all stickers???
