I seem to have problems posting, so I hope this works.
I'm replacing the Front air dam on my 84 with a stock type replecement. I removed the screws that hold the backer and the strip seems to be held in place with plastic pins? Do I pry the backer off or what?

my air dam is just a few screw with metal strips above it.
I would just take it all off, and you'll see how it goes.
