Yes, they one you saw was a Prototype ZR-1, it was given to Morrison by Chevy to make into a press car for all the magazine photo shoots and for Mobil 1 and Goodyear tire ads that followed the record breaking run. The original was back in the possession of Chevy a few months after the run when the new car was done. This car (prototype) differed in only one way from the real car, it does not have the fuel cell that the real race car does, everything else is identical. These 2 cars are tucked away from prying eyes and will be until Chevy is able to legally get them returned to them thru the court system.

This should be the car that you saw at the Smithsonian, Tommy Morrison sits on their board of directors.

The sticker look really doesn't float my boat but I really like the previous record holder. The Mormon Meteor is a sweet looking Duesenburg an amazing car that set a record that stood for so many decades ...

I should know something about getting that whole body kit reproduced in early may as both owner of these cars and the person that will make the molds and complete the new body kit will both be in Bowling Green in early May at the same time.

I will gladly offer up my car to be a test mule if it is needed!

The first person on the corvetteforum that buys/gets one of those kits...I'll offer up a free livery design for them, as that'd just be too damn cool to do.

What is a livery design?

Thanks
Brett

I am the party that may make the molds from the Snake Skinner cars. I have been asked to do it but have not had time yet.

I had better be the first person that gets one of these outside of Vette Daddy since he is making them (hopefully) My car is just waiting for the front and rear bumpers for it

I was asked by the owner of the car, to make some hoods for him. In return, he gave the ok to make other molds off of the Snake Skinner cars.

Hopefully, sometime this Summer, I'll have the time. I run a full time restoration business and don't have a lot of extra time for even my own projects.

QUESTION
How much demand would there be for these body panels? Many?

You're still first in line for GS wheel flares and extensions too.

Just my opinion... and it depends on what you can do in terms of price. It is a tough sell for somebody to spend the entire value of the car on body parts.

nose - a LOT (relatively speaking of course)

rockers/side vents - I have no idea... probably a few out there

tail - haven't actually seen it, (any pics?) but somewhat comparable to the sides

wing - probably just a couple of track junkies, and only if the price was decent compared to other functional wings.
