Well, you all have bailed me out many times before. Thought I'd try again.
I have a lot of dirty spots on my door sills and floor mats. Any recomendation as far as a cleaner to remove grease from the carpet lining in our C4's? Mine is a 1988 with saddle carpet interior.
Meguair's Quik Out carpet cleaner with a clean microfiber towel.
I use it in the car and in the house. It works great. No brush needed.
I used to buy it at Kragen till they stopped carrying it.
I'm looking too. I'm starting to get a hand stain on the carpet rail where I push myself up out of the car. I'll check these out. I've always had good luck with the Meguars products.
In it's absence, I substituted the Meguiar's with a turtle wax carpet cleaner. It didn't work as good and had a strong amonia type of smell.
The Meguairs cleaner worked better and has a very fresh pleasant smell. I'm just going to order it direct from Meguair's.
Your have carpeted door sills right?
I dragged a chunk of black grease/gunk stuck to the bottom of my shoe into the house and made a deep stain. I was degreasing the bottom of my crossmember out in the driveway. Too bad I've ran out of the Meguiar's cleaner because it's a good opportunity to show you what it does with some photos.
Small spray bottle with HOT water and a few drops of dawn liquid soap(orange works best). Spray on stain and use wash cloth. Trick works wonders. I used to use it when I detailed cars and has never let me down.
This stuff is the Shi! - Blue Magic spot remover. I've used it on a ton of different cars and it works more than 90% of the time. Follow directions and blot with white rags or towels.
Called the other Kragen in town and they had it. This is less than 1 mintute of work with Meguair's Quik Out and very light scrubbing with microfiber towel.
The ligher shade of color in the other two pics is the camera.
Obvisouly I don't know how bad your carpet is, but at $4.99 for a big 22 oz. can, it might be worth a try.
i've got to try that Meguires product! i've never heard of it and i've never seen it in a store. i guess if i want some i'll be ordering it direct from the manufacturer.
