I read in one of my threads at (linking to other Corvette sites not allowed)that I had been accused of advertising for Gordon Killebrew and that I was called out on this subject on this forum but did not reply.
I did not see the thread. Maybe it was posted while I was on vacation or while I was banned last week (for stirring up trouble in CFOT).
This is the first I have heard about this.
Let me state that I am not an employee or have never been paid any money by either Gordon Killebrew or Jason and Tobey Francis who are business partners in same as above
I have purchased a couple of items recently from Jason at his Vette2Vette Corvette recycling business but I paid full price just like anyone would have done. His company is an approved vendor and supporter of the Corvette Forum.
I do have a business interest with Corvette Enthusiast magazine and have written a few articles for them and plan to submit a few more.
I admire Gordon Killebrew and his service to the C4 community. Maybe I gushed a bit too much about what he has done. My intent was to enlighten others here to this resource for us.
I also have praised Chris Petris. Both he and Gordon have worked on my C4s over the years for free at C4 seminars and I really appreciated it.
I am sorry if I offended anyone.

 

Ron....you're one of the good guys. You don't owe anybody anything.

 

Who cares. It is a vette forum for people to come find different types of info and support. Now they got another plug anyway. I'll take any help or info I can get

 

I'm not offeneded in any way. Just glad to have this resource and other resources that I read about on this forum.

Ron sent me a fancy Cialis or Viagra or Levitra pen (whic I still have) for answering a Corvette trivia question about 4 years ago.

As far as I'm concerned the man can say whatever he wants.

 

Gordon and I played phone tag and never really got to talk. He does know the fix. I will see him at the C4/ZR1 gathering at the NCM in May and we will fix it then. I don't even have plates on the car yet as our Michigan weather makes it dangerous to drive a C4 on ice and snow so I can wait.

 

exactly why I dont deal with OT anymore.

There are some absolute pieces of crap over there. When people didnt like an opinion I gave, they'd make comments like: 'dizwiz24 drives a c4'.

Yes, I do drive a C4. One that will annhilate your Z06. Whats your point?

And we've both been around long enough to remember when the bulk of the folks in OT DROVE C4's.....including a few notables, who shall remain nameless, that are still there. They loved their C4's back in the day and now badmouth them either to fit in or for fear of being ridiculed. O/T used to be a lot of fun back in the day....

There's still some good guys n gals there too.....it just gets overshadowed by a handful of attention mongers.

 

Whats funny is C4's were expensive in their day, and were a status symbol when new.

Then the C5 debuted, and the C5 was just a little more expensive, a little more flashy, more power, etc...and it became a status symbol...so everyone not in a C5 was "poor" or "slower".

The C5 run was kinda long, and a ton were sold, many OT'rs had C5's and often ridiculed C4 owners....Then the C6 came out and the C5 became the slower car, the aging car, the car you got if you couldnt afford the NEW C6.

Then the C6Z06 came out...and it was faster than the Base C6 and it became the latest and greatest...and having a "base" C6 has become something of a diss..

You drive what you like, can afford, and can keep running. I looked at a 2001 C5 today...they arent aging gracefully, you can believe that. Body panels not lined up right, the edges of the panels arent all "flat" the ends jut up slightly. The windshield molding juts up above the level of the top..looks stupid. And the paint...yes C5's apprently CAN fade..

 

I constantly make jokes about me having a c4 over there. in fact that is why I had the lambo door pic for a while. Half of them don't own vettes, not that it matters. I think some of the gen bashing has slowed down now.
