I've been very happy with the Kumho's I put on. Reasonabley priced and seem to handle very well.... although unlike a lot of them crazy people I don't drive in the rain
I've been happy with the Firestone Firehawks that are on my car (a '96) - good value for a mid-priced tire. I've also read good things about Cooper Zeon 2XS and Kelly Fierce UHP - in the same ballpark, price-wise.
Nobody likes my choices, but I'll give em to ya anyway.
Goodyear bought Dunlop tire Co., and I have Dunlop Direzza 101's on the front. treadwear 220, and they stick like glue.....265/40/17, and they are the same diameter and width as 245/45/17.
They don't make this tire in the rear size I want, sooooooo..........
On the back, i went with cheap because I tend to burn up the rears pretty easy.
I went with Sumitomo II, 285/35/18, treadwear 225, same diameter as 275/40/18, and because Sumitomos run narrower, my tire is as wide as the 275, as well.
I have C5 wheels on my C4.
The trick here is to go to tire rack .com, and go to the tire listings for purpose, ( I went to extreme summer radials) then go to the tech pages, and figure out the diameter of the tire you want, then how wide, and it translates to a size.
THEN
go back through the tech pages and figure out tread wear and speed ratings, and that's your tire......... LITTLE bit of work, but in the end, you can tailor a tire to your needs.
