How big is the dent? Does it looks like it was caused by something on the road in the past? Or by improper jacking, which is very common? Does it cause one of the seats to sit awkwardly? The floorpan itself is steel. You can take out the seat and use a mallet to beat it back down if it's not severe - which, as you briefly described it, doesn't sound like it is.
yes the seat on the pass side does sit high on the drive shaft side.i was thinking about the rubber mallet, but someone said the floor is fiberglass.it looks like steel.my guess is a land on something dent awile back.

My '90 ZR-1 had the same issue on the driver's side seat, left-hand rear seat bolt stud area. Was dented from the bottom from scraping over something or improper jacking. Yes, the floorpan that the seats are bolted to is steel.
After removing the seat, I pounded the dent back out with a 2x4 piece of wood and a hammer.
Now you know, when you have to lift the car be sure the pads from the lift are positioned on the spots marked with arrows under the rocker panels. Someone must have put a jack under the floor pan in the past. I had a 1966 Mustang fastback a few years ago. I brought it to get new tires a local tire shop. The dumazz put two floorjacks under the rear floor and started lifting, and lifting, and, well you can guess what happened. I had a (word) with him to show my disapproval. The floor looked like garbage underneath after they beat the h-ll out of with a rubber mallet. Be careful how you repair it.
You can always tell when someone jacked it up and didn't know what he was doing. I had a kid a few years back that tried to jack up my Mercury - it went up five different ways. Dented the floorboard and almost dropped it off the lift.
