Darn Polo, don't know how you could tell it was a 427 and 6 spd but I could tell by the numbers it had V-8, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, bucket seats, carpet throughout, ABS, AC, Alloy Wheels, AM/FM Stereo, Automatic Trans, Cruise Control, Leather Interior, Power Brakes, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power Windows, Removable Roof Panel, Tilt /Telescopic and etc,
Olcrusty ran out of breath trying to said that

You've got to dig deep to find that date. I am dooing a heater core and carpets. I pulled the entire dash to do it. This car sat for some years outside and some mice mooved in. Pulled the whole dash to clean out the mouse poop. The date is written on the aluminum brace that runs under the a pillar, right under the center vents and facing the windshield.

:
As curious as I am, I think I'll just settle for the 11/83 stamped in the door jamb.

Has anyone compared results from the web site to the date on their build sheet? I tried but my VIN was not in the database. The reason I ask is because of the response I received from the National Corvette Museum when I inquired about the date on the build sheet, copied below. As you can see the date on the build sheet only indicates when the order was entered in the computer at the factory.

This date is the day and time the order was entered in the computer for
the Corvette to be built. The actual time the car rolled off the line
was approximately 5-7 working days after that date. There is no record
as to definite date or time the car actually come off the line that we
have record of.

Thank you for your inquiry and your continued support of the National
Corvette Museum.

Subject: build sheet

I purchased a build sheet for my 1993 coupe VIN 1G1YY23P2P5111364 but
have a question concerning the date and time at the top, in my case
02/11/93 06:20:17. Can you tell me if the date and time listed
indicates when the car started assembly or was completed? Thank you in
advance for any assistance you can provide.

Well, my VIN showed up using the link above.
And I also have the build sheet with the same type of date/time as your referring too.

Using the VIN link above:
Vehicle: CORVETTE 2 DR
Year: 1996
Build Date: 1996-01-16

On the top of my build sheet it lists:
DATE: 12/21/95 TIME: 06:37:14

Sticker on drivers door jamb:
01/96

I have always know the sticker on the drivers door shows the month it was built, and I was told the same thing as you about the date on the build sheet.

You were correct, the second time I tried my VIN it did give me results, thanks for your suggestion.

if you remove the dash theres an aluminum brace that runs to the left and right of the car that the clutch and brake pedals bolt to, the hood release, and a number of other things bolt to it as well. the aluminum brace will have a date written on it.
