Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums with a question.

About to receive 1991 Corvette, and it has 156k miles on it.

What's it going to do to the performance and what kind of problems can I expect?

Thanks, I hope not too much

a lot depends on how teh car was maintained and what parts are new. also a list of issues with the car would help us help you.

Well, i got to drive it for a day, and there's not many problems.

It has HID lights, but for some reason there is no highbeams/foglights.

Whenever you floor it and let go right after it switches gears (its an automatic transmission btw), it makes a small screeching noise.

I also hear it squeak when you turn the wheel if you're outside.

Other than that nothing much. The brake is not as strong as I thought it would be though, if thats anything else.

Its going to be taken to a mechanic to change the set of brakes, change the oil and inspected I suppose, but I'm wondering what effect the age and mileage will have on say, 0-60 and quartermile times. Should be somewhere around 5 seconds I think, but I haven't gotten the chance to time it.

First thing I would do is change ALL the fluids.

Any common problems with this generation that aren't too obvious to notice?

Rear Intake Manifold usually leaks in the rear and a little coolant seepage could be seen towards the top front near the thermostat housing.

Stock Multec fuel injectors will eventually fail, replace with Bosch III injectors from www.fuelinjectorconnection.com $169 when the intake manifold is off. Also, change the EGR valve.

The water pump should also, be changed if it hasn't already.
