Default Tire Size Help

I have a 94 C4 that came with 315/35 R17 tires on the rear. I want to go to a smaller tire (less $$ too). What sizes can I go too? Thanks.

You didn't say what year, but I'll assume '94 from your screen name?

Tire size is going to depend on what wheel width you have on there now.
Unless it's a ZR1, it didn't come from from the factory with 315/35-17 tires.

That size really needs an 11" wheel, which very well could be what you have. The wheels in your avatar pic are not factory, so someone has put them on.

If you want to go to a smaller tire, you should consider a narrower wheel also.

17 x 11 inch wheels : 315/35-17 or even 335/35-17 tires

17 x 9.5 inch wheels : 285/40-17 or 275/40-17 (both were stock sizes on that wheel)

17 x 8.5 inch wheel : 255/45-17 (Used on the front only for some late model C4's)
