I have one headlamp that is glass and one that is plastic. The heavy glass one flips out slower (not surprisingly) but are both about the same brightness.
Not sure exactly on the '95, but for '96 the original was plastic.
But I have installed "glass" Silver Stars on mine. Been on for almost 5 years without any issues.

yeah..ok, cool. I figured the oem ones were lightweight for the corvette. It bugs me a little that one of the eyes is slower when I turn it on. (my first car with pop up lights).
The lighter one will put less strain on your headlight motors. You can always just buy one new plastic light. But....that may not make them the same speed. The one motor may have other issues....worn brushes, plastic bumpers that have turned to mush, etc. Rebuilding headlight motors isn't a big deal, so if the plastic light doesn't solve the issue, time to rebuild the slow one.
I hear you though....one sluggish headlight would drive me nuts.
we're talking like 2 or 3 tenths of a second difference from the slower heavier glass side vs the plastic side- it's the weight, the thing still moves ok. I just want them to match..maybe I'll see what the parts store sells.

I honestly don't think it's the weight.
I had plastic on mine, and switched to glass.
When I did the swap, I just did one side so I could see if it made any difference. I could not tell any difference at all in the way they opened.
