My 89 fx3 light is on the front driver side shock gear has deteriorated will that cause service engine light to come on I checked codes it keeps flashing just code 12 no problems?

You sure it's not the "Service Ride Control" light.

I think it's "A" to "C" for FX3. SRC shud give the code.

No but it will cause the Service Ride Control light to come on. It only takes one bad FX3 controller to cause this light to come among other things.
