The c4 got a bad rap early on because of how stiff the 84' Z51 was. I think most of us here like the Z51. I gad one, it was a lot more fun than the base vert I have.

I own a 84 Z51. Try and get a Z51 car. The ride was softened up a bit in the newer early C4s but the 84 will handle with the best of them. Steering is very fast so you must keep that in mind. All the extra cooling fans and coolers are a plus. The Z51 rides no harder then earlier C1 and C2s and probably C3s. IMO. Remember when the C4 came out a lot of sissy rich boys were buying them who were used to German luxury so the letters starting pouring into Chevrolet. Thats my theory anyway.If you looking for comfort and a quiet ride think about a C5 or a real late C4.
