Anyone know about Ming auto detailing, either good or bad? Won a $250 detail in a door prize and not sure about using it on the 95, or using it on my truck. Several people I know have had it done on regular cars and love it, just not sure about the finish on the Vett
According to the paperwork I have the original owner of my 94 had it done shortly after taking delivery. Paint still looks great, although I'm sure the PO's took care of the car as I try to do.

Reason: link failed
I don't know if Ming is as up to date as some of the commercially available 'do it yourself' coatings. If you take them a perfectly clean car, it might be OK. But I've seen a lot of so called professionals just put their magic coating right over all kinds of surface crud sealing it in! I like to clay bar my car and then put a coating of "Rejex". That stuff is super slick and bugs and bird-do just dust off. Plus it makes a clear deep shine.
Ok...after seeing the MING link I now have a really dumb question...it says in their process preparation that nothing is left on the surface of the paint. They dont take off the clearcoat before applying their products do they???
I have had two cars with a Ming finish, and love it. It is a hot buff that polishes off the orange peel of a factory clear coat. Best applied to a new car, which I had done in 1978, and 2011 to new Camaros. I have a new black ZL1 Convertible coming soon, and will be taking it to be done as well. Black is more due to the expertise it takes to avoid surface damage. The guy in San Antonio is good!
It is not a wax and leaves no residue on the car. Because the pores are sealed by the process, wax is not necessary. The car looks wet when done!

Clearcoat is paint. It cannot be removed without destroying the paint job.

I use Rejex too. It is great and I am an old detailer.
