Default 1985 Corvette Modifications

Hello All,

It has been awhile but I am back. I have sound deadened my corvette and updated the auto system. Here are the pics:

First step in putting in new rear speakers was to mark and cut.

Next I drilled the holes and made sure it all lined up.

After I had that all setup, I decided to deaden it all here are a few pictures.

Next, I put spray adhesive and foam. I also, dyed my carpet's black with Rye Die since I had them out. The dye was 3.99 at Walmart. I applied the dye using a garden sprayer that was also from walmart for $9.00. I must say for under $15 bucks it made a huge difference!

Sorry for lack of pictures in the later steps, I first wanted to put speakers in and then I just got carried away with it.

With all that said, please let me know if you think I did a good job in comments.

don't let your carpet get wet, it'll wash right out.

Did you put some dynamat behind the speakers as well? I'll be ripping my 85 apart in the next few weeks to deaden it up as well.

Actually, one day after I dyed it, I brought it to local car wash and power washed the excess out. It seemed to still make a difference.

No, I used my spray adhesive and foamed the plate front and back. Then I screwed the speaker right in. It sounds awesome! Now, if only I could get the thing started.. LMAO!!!

But, The whole car is deadened. Front Cargo, Trunk, Sides, and Doors. Even the two compartments in the trunk area are deadened! I cant wait to road test it but this project took me a year (sad, i know) and now the battery is dead and wont even start from jumping cables.. ::sigh::: ..
