Just a warning for the Socal boys n girls - yesterday got my pull for no front plate. Also no current proof of insurance - I have it, I just had lagged with my in-car paperwork.
He stopped me for 2 things - tints and no front plate, but only wrote me up for the plate. I was doing a steady 44 in a 45 with cruise control on up the 2 (Angeles Crest Highway) which I drive quite a bit.
Knew I was on borrowed time - car came like this and it's been over 3 years without any hassles. CHP don't really care, but this guy was a Sheriff hiding in the bushes probably hoping to get me for speeding
Up here in Minnesnoooooda, if the vehicle is at least 20 years old, no front license plate is required. I know of a few late C4 owners who tried to go without front plates and were stopped and ticketed. Since early C4s and late C4s look similar to most people including patrolmen, I carry a note from the motor vehicle division saying that I am OK with no front plate. Forgot to mention I have an '86 Coupe.

Reason: additional note
It's a good thing he was enforcing traffic laws instead of trafficing laws. Let the drugs and illegals roll on through. I feel secure in knowing that speeders, dark tinters, seat belt violators and front tag scoflaws are getting the needed attention.

Timithy McVeigh was arrested within 90 minutes of the explosion, as he was traveling north on Interstate 35 near Perry in Noble County, Oklahoma. Oklahoma State Trooper Charlie Hanger stopped McVeigh for driving his yellow 1977 Mercury Marquis without a license plate, and arrested him for having a concealed weapon.

I thought it was when the vehicle was determined a collector. Which is 25 years in MN, as far as I know.
If it is indeed 20 years. My local DMV lied to me, which is entirely possible

Yup, never know how far “probable cause” will carry something. Son of Sam, parking ticket I think.
sorry to hear that, no front plate is a weak ticket, officer was likely dieing of boardom. Most law enforcment officers i have met have been the worst law violaters. the badge is a free pass

So random stops produce results. Now the truth is revealed. Crap shoot law enforcement.
I'm always polite and treat them with respect. It was a slow day yesterday...
Luckily I found the front plate behind the rear one.. will just have to get one of those clear front covers.
You may want to re-think that cover since you are in the Democratic Repooplic of Kalifornia.
