Our c4 has more problems than one can imagine, and in the corner of my garage, there is a growing tempation; vortec heads and manifold, with a good summit racing carb. I want to throw that on there but would fail emissions inspections miserably.

Is there a way to register the vehicle as a low mileage vehicle, in a county that doesn't require emissions, or some other bypass method?

don't know where you are but if it you don't have emissions testing to worry about all you have to do is have the safety stuff functional. headlights, brake lights, horn, tires, a decent windsheild. Any mods you do should not matter beyond that. if i understand your question right.

In Pa where I`m at, when the car is 15 years old you can get "classic" plates for $100. No more emmissions inspection. When the car gets to be 25 years old, you can get "antique" plates for another $100. No more inspections at all.
