blackouts aren't legal for anything but "off road use" in any state, just depends how strictly the local law enforcement wants to enforce the law. I had blacked out tails on my DD for a year and was only bothered twice.
I've had blackouts on my 92 for years now, and never been hassled, either by cops or by annual state inspections. No front plate, either. If you don't drive to attract attention, you won't receive it.

Very good advice right there, and it will work most of the time.
But, your "luck" can run out at any time. So, don't blame the officer if you happen to get stopped and receive a ticket.

exactly, the 2nd time i was bothered for it was because I was stopped for my license plate bulb being out, in which he wrote a 10-day fix-it-or-ticket for both.
Black outs are so Hideous. I don't understand peoples fascination with them. Ever seen a Ferrari Lambo or Porscha with them? It's no wonder people never compare vettes with the worlds best because people still mod them like civics. just my .02

see, I think it depends on the color of car though... Black outs on a black or dark colored car is sexy in my eyes...
My old custom tails on my DD.
If they are not too dark, than they are legal. You can buy s spray also instead of the material kind, and the more you put on the darker they get. I guess you could try that if you're afraid of the law.

NightShades 2 or 3 light coats + some clear isn't overly obvious and looks pretty good.
