So I was taking my sister's to a friend's house a few blocks away just moments ago, a few minutes after she had woken me up.
On the way back at a light, I see a beautiful 80's cherry red C4, and for some reason (its 9 am), as if he were expecting me, his lights were rolled up and ready to flash, whereas mine were hidden inside the trunk.
Well he flashed, and I tried to react but it happened too fast. I might have waved or something, but I feel bad now for missing out on that salute. Its my first C4 salute and I wish I would've been more aware, lol.
I can't get my brights to turn on. I have the HIDs installed on the headlights. Does anyone else have this problem? That incident would've been a nice one had it not been for my fault fog lights.
Sometimes when I see a vette, like on the opposite side of a four lane, I just flick my park lights on and off. If I am running with them on, I flick them off and then on.
Hmmm....I figured all of those salutes I was getting from Vette guys were because they had mistaken my car for another Vette. Especially at speed heading in the opposite direction and with the rarity of my car. I don't think they realize I'm not another Vette until we are passing side-by-side. However, I always salute back....whether with a wave or a flash.
I had tried to kid myself that they were just saluting another sports car, but I figured they had mistaken me for another Vette. Although I must say, I've been welcomed on many a drive and event by the local Vette club here, great group of guys and gals.
Heck, those that aren't intimately familiar with either car have often mistaken mine for a Vette when it was sitting still and we were standing beside it talking about it. Never mind the circled A emblem on the front, or the ACURA name on the back!
First thing I'd do is get your headlights out of the trunk. Must be a rare C4 because I've only seen one C4 that had a trunk.

I believe if you installed HIDS you no longer have brights.
As far as I know HID bulbs are single purpose, not dual filament, IE low/high in the same bulb.
I'm sure one of the vendors can correct me if I'm wrong.

Dont worry, it happens some times. I know what you mean, somethimes on the road you are focused on something (like driving) and you catch the wave at the last second... I make an attempt to stick my arm out the window and hope they look in the rear view mirror, but if not, just make it up by waving to the next Vette you see...
We should start a wave sticky in the discussion area so if you get a wave you can post the when and where of the wave and see if the other person is a forum member. I think that would be cool!

It depends on what kind of HIDs that you have. Do you have the bixenon ones? I have HID's that also have the high function.
Lots of C5's and 6's around here, not too many C4's or older. When I do see one I just wave. I must have been really special yesterday....a C6 guy actually waved back
Saw several C1's and 2's out last weekend...verts mostly, they always wave back.
