Default I'm with ya!

I just got a 93 convertible a few weeks ago, thinking, "Nice winter project." I remember recent winters when you could actually work on your car most weekends. I had to put new wheel bearings on to pass Maryland inspection. Any other time, no problem. But in this weather, even in a garage, it makes your cojones crawl up inside you looking for some warmth!

Come on, SPRING!

JMO but I would get and use a cover. Mine has been in the garage a good deal of the winter because of some work I have doing, but I put up one of those metal carports for my Ram and the vette. I usually have it under the carport with a cover.

Winter will be over shortly but then I imagine we will have some flooding issues this spring and summer.

Yeah, we made up for the last few years in one fell swoop

being cold in the garage is not an option. i use a 60,000 btu heater to warm the garage. its a must here in ohio during the winter.

mine just kinda stays tucked here until summer and then i switch between it, the RX-8, and an RX-7..so the garage is reerved for the Vette in the winter. al lothers are stored in my 80X100 workshop..which i located on my inlwas property and is not heated...only work done there is in the summer

The next house will definitely have a space that is protected for the Vette!

I live in a subdivision, no room to build a workshop, so I use my two car garage to the max. The wife's '06 Mustang Convertible and my '79 Vette stay tucked in for the winter. That means the Subaru Baja (winter vehicle) and the '95 Vette have to face the elements. I had a cover on the '95, tied down nice and tight. Well, last month a snowstorm with 60 mph winds hit us. The next morning, that car cover was long gone. Bummer - it was a nice one from Mid-America.

Yeah, this winter has been rough enough for me to insulate my garage door and buy a 45,000 BTU propane heater. Crank the heater up, give it about thirty minutes and the garage heats up from below freezing to 60 degrees. Of course I have a Carbon Monoxide dectector and a smoke detector in the garage.

That's nothing! In a prior life (2 years ago) I had a relatively built up LT1 camaro. Well, the garage was full when winter came so it sat outside. We of course had record snowfall amounts that year. *Notice the gas door if you don't think there is a car in there!*

Yeah, in some parts of the world, there's laws against treating a Corvette that way.

I don't have a garage either so i rented a storage unit for the winter. I just couldn't bring myself to leave it in the elements.

You could rent storage for about 20 bucks a month. So for about 100 bucks you could have avoided all that. It would be worth it to me.

I know I am, but no axe in sight, and My ex's are too far away to chase down.

Mine is in a cold garage, looked at it for first time in 4 months yesterday actually, battery was low so i couldnt start it (was almost 40 here yesterday). Goint to drag a cord out and charge it today I think.

Car cover+ outside= bad idea

Ex body man and I cant tell you how many cars i have seen with clear coats rubbed off or paint even wearing where the car cover sits and moves when the wind blows. I dont care how soft it is, it wears when the wind blows. just an opinion. I know some say its better , but todays paint is some tough stuff, with proper cleaning ans such I dont think outside is that bad.. (sun is worst).
