Coolant Path/Travel??

do special circumstances have to take place, ie: abnormal tempts or
overheating. Also. should the coolant level be at the "hot" mark of the tank always during normal engine operation? Thanks

Your cooling system is under pressure, and you can see that recovery tank is not.
So, coolant will only enter the recovery tank under certain high pressure conditions. Then as the system begins to cool down again, the coolant is sucked back into the main surge tank (the black plastic tank by the firewall).
I wouldn't worry about having the coolant level up at the full "hot" mark exactly. You don't want to go over that line though, and you don't want the tank completely empty either.
