Default Mirror Fix

I need help fixing my mirrors on my 92. When you use the dirrectional button inside the car, for both the drivers and passengers side the mirrors will move in some directions but not all. Eg. If you try to move the mirror in using the button it won't move in, but if you try using the button for the same mirror and push it out - it will move out or if you try moving it up, it won't move but it will move down. Is there a fix for this and how hard? The button works fine because using the same button for both mirrors, each mirror has different up, down , in and out capabilities.

Thanks for your help!
Chris

I had the same problem with mine on my 85 last year. I think that they're not used enough to keep them operating correctly. I just flipped the switch back and forth about 10 times, operated the mirrors in all directions and flipped it again in the same way. It has operated correctly ever since. I read this suggestion here from someone else and it works. Every so often just operate the switches for windows, seats and mirrors. It must keep the contacts clean is all I can figure.

Also, there is a little plastic X piece that holds it in place in the mirror assembly itself. It is called a trunion and is a cheap fix.

I had to get one for my 87. I have also from time to time just tapping the mirror helps.

I do believe that using them from time to time does help a lot. Probably keeps corrosion from building up. I do move mine in all directions once in a while.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll try tapping and flipping the switch and see if that works. I appreciate the info, I'll keep you informed.

Thanks again -
