Default late emblems on early C4

My 86 will be repainted silver in a few short weeks and I need to purchase emblems, the color scheme for the whole car is black and silver (engine is black with silver accents, interior is black with silver accents and exterior will be silver with black accents). I think the later C4 emblems would match my color scheme better as they have the black instead of red flag and are already on the gs replicas I just got in. Am I correct that these are the same sizes and will fit the original holes without a problem? Let me hear some opinions you all have about putting the more modern emblem on, im not trying to say my car is newer or something that it isnt, the difference is subtle enough that a non-vette guy probably wouldnt even notice. So, lets hear it, good, bad and everything else.

I'm thinking they will fit, I don't think GM changed the hole patterns on the bodies from year to year.

As for what anyone else thinks, who cares, go for it

Im not usually one to care what other think too much, however i also dont usually like putting the wrong emblems on a car. As I will have none of the early emblems anywhere on my car I think this might work.

I just went with the silver/chrome ones over the stock black ones as they look better with fresh black paint and chrome rims.

All the 84-96 hood and gas lid emblems have the same hole/pin placement. I put the later emblems on my 86. This was after I put the 91-96 front and rear bumpers, 95-96 fenders, and sawblade wheels. If you will like the later emblems, go for it. It's only a car.

At least you aren't putting C-5 or C-6 emblems on it.

Thats the only thing that really bothers me. I agree with everybody, its your car and if it makes you happy and looks better to you, go for it. The proper emblems only matter in Corvette only judging anyway.
