Ok I dont want to argue either, but productions numbers are not a basis for demand when it comes to Color. Engine and suspension and package options are a different argument. Of coarse a ZR1 demands a higher price, but if they make more money on yellow ones, why are they not all Yellow? The low production numbers on Z's with yellow color are simply because they dont sell as well. But the few people who want them will pay the premium for them. The demand is there, just a much much smaller demand than a mainstream color.
I understand all about engine, suspension and package options as the ZR-1 is fully loaded and with high HP.
It can help a Corvette keep its value if the color is in demand and there are not alot available for sale. Now if there are 1,500 Corvettes just like yours, your buyer segment might be bigger but you have more competition and are selling from a weak vantage point since buyers have a ton of options and cars to choose from. (some distressed sellers etc)
It's not just worth more to me, its worth more in the market place because buyers seek it out and supply/demand comes into play.

I am in agreement with you on volume of colors at the dealer, more common colors having a larger audience and less shelf life on the lots.
