and i dont see my car running an 8.5? did you have any other mods?
Not much - just straight tubes instead of mufflers and a cut intake lid. Neither one of these are power adders of any significance. Here's my complete timeslip info:
All of these were personal bests at the time except the reaction time (of course) and the 1/4 MPH. The run was done at New England Dragway, in southern New Hampshire, on October 24, 2003. That late in the fall we can get sunny days in the 50's with very high air pressure. so the density altitude was probably -500 feet or better.

wow ok ill let you know how i do saturday i just want to see the 8s
My best is just a little slower than MTVette. 8.55 in the 1/8th mile, I don't remember the MPH, but the ET is what matters. Mine is a 95 coupe, A4, SLP Intake, Meziere water pump, muffler eliminators and otherwise all stock with over 200,000 miles. Oh, I forgot, I was running Nitto DRs at 18 psi.

that really good ill just have to see what mine runs...how did you launch? did you put it in first a manualy shift or did you start in drive?

I just use Drive. It can shift faster and better than I can. If you are running drag radials back into the water and do your burnout using 1st gear only. On street tires stay clear of the water, drive around it, keep your tires dry. Even street tires will hook better with lower PSI (about 20), but no reason to do a burnout. At the launch you can foot brake it to whatever the stall is in your torque convertor, or simply flat foot it.
Remember reaction time means absolutely nothing, 60 ft means a whole lot. Good luck and have a great time.
ps-what rack is near Radford? My mom is from Radford and I was born there (a very long time ago).

Used to be the old New River Valley Speedway, Now Shelor Motor Mile Speedway,(between Radford and Dublin), they have a short oval track and have added a 1/8 mile drag strip. Nice place if your looking for something to do on Satuarday, mostly local guy's driving, the original op in this thread is my nephew, just got his Corvette after someone a$$ ended his Camaro one day. This will be his first time on the track with the vett.
