Cleaning engine
I'm cleaning my engine, and due to the year, which is a 1988, some of my my engine parts, such as the distributor cover, altenator, have a spotty type buildup on them. I have tried to clean, but when it dries the spotty buildup returns, any good cleaner for aluminum that would atleast get rid of the white spottyness.

try CLR on the spotty stuff. if it is calicum lime or rust stains. it should come off however it was caused by battery acid you will not be able to get that off.
I clean my engine with Charlie's Soap. Expensive stuff but it works with little effort.
