How easy is it to flush and clean out the radiator and everything that the coolant goes? Or should i say how hard?

It isn't hard as long as you pick up a flush kit. But I remember that kit leaked a little - watch out for the opti. But the garages have the power flushers that do work better.

I got a L98 motor. So no opti for me. How much does a flush kit normally run?

I was agreeing that you should get the flush kit. Makes it easier.

just installed one of those on my 86. Gonna do the upper and lower hoses next, then eventually do a flush.

You can open your spicket, and let it drain, then run a garden hose in it while it runs, that way you can run out all the junk too.
I expect some to complain or analyze this method, but is old school and works.

Flush kit goes against scale (back flush) and lifts more for better flush. JMO

I've read not to use those kits as it introduces ice cold water into a hot engine.
I say the best is to just dump the coolant from the drain plugs and radiator. Fill with distilled. Run engine. Let cool. Drain the water from the drain plugs and radiator. Refill with distilled. Run again. Then just dump it from the radiator. Keep doing this as long as you want. Then drain radiator. And start filling with straight antifreeze. If your system hold 14 quarts of coolant. Dump in 7 quarts of straight antifreeze as you already have distilled water in the block. Then burp it.
