Default First long drive

I bought my 85 last year after the 81 was hit in a parking lot. Insurance people totaled it rather than fix it. So I've only driven the 85 localy and wanted to see how it did on the longer haul. A couple things to report:
Have wide tires that made the ride a little difficult at times. The roads in Oregon are not all they should be, and I bounced in and out of truck ruts for a bit of the trip. (Klamath Falls, Oregon to Portland, Oregon) A round trip of around 600 miles. When the road settled down the car drove very nicely. The pickup in over-drive when doing 65 and 70MPH was very good.
I am very happy to report a 24.5 mpg going to Portland, and around 23.7 mpg comming back. There is quite a climb comming back where as a nice downhill going to.
All in all I was very happy with the cars performance. Seats were acceptable to my 67 year old back. Cup holders worked well as I grabbed the shift stick on the side and lower part so as to not dump a cup of coffee. I've read many complaints about this on this board.
I found my first longer ride very nice and plan to do more in the future.
Thanks for reading.
Chuck

I am 1/2 way through my first long trip as well. I will be heading back to Columbus from Savannah on Friday. I to am getting the rough ride on the crappy highway 16 My MPG is about 22 on the way down to Savannah. But all in all I enjoyed the drive a heck of a lot more than in any other car I have driven on this trip before

We love pics....you get a n00b pass on this outing, but we will be needing new ones on every subsequent cruise.

From your profile pics.....just put IMG tags around the link and it shows up.....like this....

Nice silver C4.....just like mine. Love the plate.

Chuck...

Hit the "quote" button on post #12 like you just did to quote me. Look at how I have the link for the pic formatted. That's how you get the pics to show up.
