HELP --- instrument problems

I have an 84 that is experiencing problems with the instruments. They work sometimes, and seem to cut in and out. I'm not familiar with the technology of those years, any suggestions? I understand the computer controls the dash....where is it....how do I check it.....can I buy a used one......???? I need some help.

I bought my LCD's from this guy and rebuilt my dash instruments myself. Just to let you know it's a fairly easy job and worth the expense.

I'm not sure what is causing your problem, but if the LCD's are fine I wouldn't know where to look next.
