My wife out of the blue on a ride back from visiting my mom mentioned that I should get a newer vette. Having just recently lost my dad I guess our mortality is kicking in. I really would like a 2010 GS but with the economy in the ****ter I think a late model C-5 might be better. I've been looking at 2003 and 2004 ZO6's but it's a hard decision. I'd also like to keep my C-4 but I don't know if she'd go for it.

We've looked around at some C5's...there seem to be a bunch coming on the market locally. Don't think i'd part with my C4 though, just park the newer one next to it. Gonna need a double stack lift if I do though.

Interesting, my wife and I just had the same discussion over dinner. I've been waffling about trying to decide if I was going to add a C5 Z06 or a C6 as well. I think I'm going to try to jump over the C5 and go with a C6, I'll just end up there one day anyways.
It's a good feeling to have some one in your life that knows you.
Sorry about your loss, and yes you are right mortality kicks in.
If you do really think it's time, I would definitely consider the 04' Z06. They are one of the better models IMO. Dump the C4 if you want and can get a newer one.
I would skip the c5 and go directly to c6. spend some time, research and search. I have seen some for under 30k, nicer car than the c5 with c5 zo6 power on the base model IMHO good luck.

04Z06 for sure... I still haven't got used to the C6 front end yet. maybe it'll grow on me though. Just my opinion, which doesn't mean squat so get what you really want.

Funny, I was never really a big fan of the looks of the C5...the butt always looks like something you see walking in Walmart ...but I do like the look of the C6 and that's the one I'd buy.
Corvettes are marked with milestone models...the C5 Z06 being one. The next milestone is the C6 Z06...would be my choice if I were to go newer. There are some 06 Z06s out there in the high 30s, low 40s that will be classics as the new CAFE standards come into play.
I'd would go with the C-6 but I really didn't want to commit to that much money - work for me has been poor at best. Plus we also have her 2007 and some of the C-5 ZO6's have some nice extras added.
