Later Days....
Well my vette was stolen last week,and the thieves ended up wrecking it and vandalising it.The insurance company totalled it out today .I'm toataly pissed off and depressed.
I just want to thank all the members for there comradeship and support with solving problems.I will not be purchasing another until I can afford a grandsport or ZR1,which will be some time to come.Once again thanks.

Sorry to hear that. Did you have another thread in which you gave out the details, like from where it was taken, night/day, how they took it, etc.? (I've never completely understood how 86+ Vettes can be so easily stolen when they have VATS).
I'm curious, since I'm thinking of moving to your neck of the woods, and I've always assumed that Pleasant Hill/Lafayette/Orinda corridor is safe and fairly crime free . . . I remember it being that way 20-30 years ago.

Is was stolen at a dive bar not in my area.Pleasant Hill ,Orinda,Lafayette are excellent places to live middle class,upper middle class families.Still have a low crime rate as you remember..I did not post a thread on details due to investigation .

Hey, sorry to hear that. I know that's my worst nightmare. My girlfriend lives on the north side of Chicago and I worry everytime I park my vette there. That's got to be the worst feeling...

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I feel your pain.
I watched my Vette burn to the ground. It was more then a car to me.
I exercised my right to be impulsive, and flew to Florida and drove home a Grand Sport.
Please hang out with us at the forum until you get a new car. We'd like your company.

That is a very nice Grandsport! I helped bring that car back to Illinois the first time it was purchased from Florida. I liked it so well that I sold my black 89 Coupe with 29K and bought a Red LT4 a few months ago. I did own a GTO Judge for a year and a half in between the last two Vettes. It was a clean car, but it just wasn't the same.
