My car starts sometimes (more than not) and only clicks and will not start other times..........click-click-click ----> no go, try it an 1/2 hour later it fires up.
That sounds battery related. Check for loose connection on battery. Then check for frayed battery cables. If your battery is over 2 years old, I'd also have the battery checked.
I have a 93 and it would start cold everytime. Once it came up to temp though, it would turn over but not start. Sometimes it would try to fire, but a super rough/random chug was all it would do. I spoke to an expert and he said "unhook the neg cable for 10-12 minutes and reconnect". I unhooked it before dinner, cleaned and reconnected after, and it's run perfect ever since.
I was not completely confident at first, but now believe it was as easy as rebooting. I realize this is not the exact same problem you describe, but it's a no-cost start.

click-click-click - could be the starter selenoid going
turn over and no start - icm & coil ask me how I know. I'm on my second coil (probably didn't need to change it the second time) and third ICM in 3 years.
