I have a '95 LT-1 all torn apart to replace the heater core. The front half of the heat exchange box has a plastic tube that connects to the top of the other half of the box. While removing the front half, I broke the tabs off the white plastic piece that attaches to the back half of the heat exchange box.
Now I need to remove the back half of box and can't figure out how it's fastened. I removed the only bolt I could see holding it but, it's still in there solid.
If you have a diagram or can tell me how to get this part out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Good luck Heater core replacement on C4's sucks! I jobbed mine out, paid some $375 for it to be done and it was the best money I ever spent. It can be done by the DIY but its just too much of a pain in the **** for me.
Man what a bummer! I just replaced my HC, it was not easy but I got it done. The part you are talking about is it the thing that opens the vent coming to the core? Hopefully someone will chine in who has had the same problem, good luck.

I'm not sure what that part does or what it's called. There's an actuator motor that controls the vent position. I have a pic but, I'm not sure how to attach it. Did you use any sealant when putting the heat exchanger back together?
