Evening everyone, i was wondering if someone could give me some advice on vehicle maintenance. I have put about 15,000 miles on my car since the last time it was serviced by my dad, i have been doing my oil changes during that time but is there anything else that i should do? lube anything?
No i don't, I was going to bring it to GM for the work to be done.
unless you have deep pockets and feel like giving a blank check to your local Chevy guy.
Instead, hook up with your local Corvette Club and get to talking with their "wrench turners". They will be happy to get you up and running on a regular maintenance schedule.
Follow the guidelines in your owner's manual.
Purchase the factory manual for your year, maybe $100 on eBay??
3 lube joints in the front end each side, all near the A arm behind the wheel. Air filter? Plugs (need to know your mileage). Tranny fluid (auto? mileage?) that's some of the basics.
Thanks for the input. I have a couple of friends in the area, so i will ask them if they could help, i don't really want to spend to much.
All those things you listed there socalman are the things my dad and i did before i moved out to California, along with a new water pump. The Plugs, wires, Filter, and i have a Manual Tranny, were the fluid was changed as well. All that was done about 15,000 miles ago.
