This will sound like a stupid question but here goes. The vehicle is a 96 LT4, can someone tell me the exact location of the radiator drain plug and can it be reached without raising the vehicle? Also is there anything other than the air bleed valve that needs to be opened to get a complete drain? Thanks, Chuck

I have a 84 and have never been able to locate mine. I just loosen the upper and lower hoses, knock sensor, and then flush and refill. I may not be doing it totally correct, but it works.
Ive tried reaching under and cant locate it. I guess I'll have to put it in the air. Thanks.
It's not obvious. What you're looking for is a flat plastic tab, (unless it's already been broken of), seated in a round gaurd in the bottom right tank. You just have to get the car high enough so you can slide under the air dam. If the tab on plug is not broken, be careful with it. I used a wide plier and went easy on it. Sprayed WD40 on it before re-installing.
Open the radiator drain, and remove both knock sensors to fully drain the cooling system. Be sure to purge all air from the system when refilling. I always re-bleed mine after each of the next three heat-cycles, as I've found that I often get more air out when I do this.

My builder charged me $160 to flush my 383 and I bought 2 gallons on G05 and 2 gallons of distilled. It took him around 90 minutes to completely empty system, flush, clean, refill. I bought him lunch and traveled 400 round trip miles too.
