Default Kid loves it

Ok, so I'm sitting outside Walmart in the far region parking lot waiting for my wife to pick up a few things. She calls me on the cell phone to meet her at the entrance. I help her with her bag and a kid, about 12, walks out and says to his mom, "Mom, did you see that cool car?!" and the mom says, "yes, that's a very cool car!" Little things like that make my day!

I used to be that kid, as most of us were. It's what gives us the drive when we get older to buy and maintain older cars.

I love to see kid's face light up, on the highway, when I'm out cruising. The smiles are priceless.

Too many soccer-moms, organized "playdates" and ballet lessons for that to happen around here much anymore....but it sure is nice when it does.

I agree with you there njpearson. I was one of those kids myself. I remember when they released the first C-4 in 1984. I loved the car. I remember saying I am gonna get one of those. Little did I know it would not be for another 26 years. LOL But I still have one. I have a white 1984 with CFI. Its all original with stock wheels and everything. Its in great shape, rides great and I love it.

I love it when people ask me what year it is. When I tell them they cant believe it. I am glad for all of us C-4 owners who keep these cars running and on the road. Its a credit to us all. The C-4 is a good era of corvette. I plan on keeping this one. I am gonna shop around for another when the daughter get out of college, but that wont be for 4 years. She just starting. But I can wait and drive my C-4 while I wait. Oh and I plan on keeping my 84 when I get another. I am thinking I got 4 years to convince the wife so she should wear down by then. LOL. I am glad to be in this forum with you guys and gals. This is a great site.
PRICELESS

That's because the kid must not know much about Corvettes. Had it been the son or daughter of a C5/C6 owner. The kid might have said, Hey Mom, look at that Corvette.

Drove mine to work for the first time last week since bringing her home from N Carolina in December.
I had to walk down the hall several times to check her out in the parking lot.
We have a new medical assistant at the clinic and she has been parking her pristine 85 coupe out on the edge of the lot away from other cars. I work the evening shift and she works days. I'll bet she had a smile on her face when she left that day to see my baby parked nose-to-nose with hers.

Had something similar happen to me at a car show I was attending, not participating in. When I parked the car I heard a little guy ask his mom "Mom, is that a Corvette? Yes it is and a nice one too" Made my day!

At Wal-Mart

Mine doesn't go near a Wal-Mart parking lot, even the back lot.

My pace car gets noticed far too often. It's like driving a flag around. Little kids point and say, "look, it's the batmobile". It gets embarassing. I'd love it if their mommies noticed more. *S

If a kid likes a particular car you can bet the manufacturer got it right. Kid's have an innate sense of what is cool in this regard. If a kid comes up to you and says "cool car" or stops playing in his front yard and stares as you drive by you know you have a winner. Kid's have an honesty about their judgment in this regard. We were all kids that liked cool cars too and that is where our love for cool cars was born. Yep, I always take special notice of kid's reactions... they are the truest barometer... unsullied by any agenda... pure and honest.
