I've been toying with the idea of buying a 03 or 04 C-5 ZO6. But I'm finding that some of the prices are approaching the $30k mark. I just started thinking that 06 and 07 C-6's coupes have been selling for just a few thousand more at best. What does everyone think ZO6 or C-6?

I'm no expert but don't the C6's have the C5 Z06 motor in them? Seems like I heard that somewhere.

C6Z06 427 sbc as far as I know. Nice mill.

Always drooled over an 04 C5Z06 though.

The same principle that applies to C4s (buy the newest and best you can afford) seems to apply here as well. Both the C6 and the C5 ZO6 are great cars but the C6 is better than the C5 (as the C5 was to the C4). And with a C6 you can flash your headlights at the slowpoke ahead of you.

I understand your pain, you know which way I went. I looked at the Z06 C5's, but the speed thing is not that big a deal for me (sorry Red) so the extra $5K wasn't something I was interested in. I also looked at some early C6's but even a Sales Manager at a Chevy dealership that is a close business associate of mine told me to stay away from 2005 & 2006 C6's (showed me 3 in his shop that day), they had some early production woes. When you get into the 2007 - 2009 C6's you're in the $40K range, didn't want to spend that much. For me, the best option was a 2004 C5 equipped exactly like I wanted it. I have no regrets, plus you gotta love that big butt

Depends on what you want. The 04 Z06 is more of a sports car while the 05 C6 is more of a cruiser. I'd personally go with the C5 Z06 or wait until you can afford the C6 Z06.

I see C5 Zo6 from 15k = 25k
