Default brake question upgrade

Hello and good morning to all, i have a simple question for you guys, I have a 1984 corvette, and the braking sucks. It takes for ever to slow down from 100+ mph, so i am wondering if i can take the brakes off of a 90+ vette (the dual piston calipers) and put them on mine with out having to make any special brackets. Also the other question i have is what is the thickness of the brake rotors? last but not least who has the best prices on cross drilled, slotted, or slotted and dimpled rotors .

thanks

Hay Wiggy, you need special brackets to mount the j55 calipers to your car. You also need to do some grinding on the steering knuckles to get the brackets to fit on. I got my brackets from http://www.dougrippie.com. It makes a big difference in the braking. I don't think you will get any noticable improvement going to slotted or dimpled or drilled rotors tho. Just use stock Delco rotors and good pads. Hawk or Performance Friction seem to get good praise. And replace the brake lines from the frame to the caliper with stainless steel ones.
There, that should start the arguements, hahahahaaha.
