Not even close. Sell it and buy a 6speed. I would say 6000 is more like it. Plus it will be more hassle than it was worth. New computer, new pedals, slave cylinder, customer machine work, driveshaft, trans supports, and a high dollar new or used 6 speed is 2500+ for a used one. Then dual mass flywheel and clutch 600 - 1000
Totally not worth it for the money, you'd be better off just buying another car. I think the transmission tunnels and everything are different, not just the tranny itself. Huge pain!
That's what I thought expensive. My buddie told me like 2000$. He is wrong and now I got the proof. I love my car to much to sell it though. Oh well maybe I buy another vett
Absoluty, not worth the hassle. You have to splice in a floor pan from a stick equipped vette as the shifter on the stick doesn't match up with the auto floor pan. Let alone all the other costs. You would be smarter to buy a doner car and get all the stuff you need from it.
I have about $3000 in the ZF6 swap in my Z28. I did everything myself and was able to use a lot of T5 parts (clutch, flywheel, slave cyl, etc...). That saved me a ton. My Z was originally an 700R4 car.
