The switch isnt on this vette , but its between the seat adjusters, its an on and off switch. There is also red light above it . The previous owner said he didnt know what it did, do any of you?  :flag
I have flipped it but the car wasnt running :yesnod:
That switch could be for anything....If my sister lets me use her camera I'll take a picture of it so you can check it out
   The switch is for the antena it makes it go up and down :yesnod:    To BAD my antena is broken, the moter works but something else is wrong
I've seen these "antenna bypass switch kits" on ebay. The reason to put one
in is to save wear/tear on the antenna/motor - why would you want it to rise
if you are listening to CD's or tapes???
Good grief....it's not that big a deal  ... I had good luck with my black 87 coupe...had it for 5+ years and never once had a problem with the antenna or motor. My ZR1's tape was broken... :( Easy fix tho. I worked at ZIP and constantly sold the replacement masts like daily.
Someone enlighten me. I have heard about these antenna switches and really don't get it. I start the car and the radio is on ANTENNA GOES UP. I decide to listen to a CD, ANTENNA GOES DOWN. CD ends and I want to hear the radio, BACK UP goes the antenna. That is two extra operations of the antenna. If you DON"T buy the switch, it goes up once when you start it and down when you shut it off. LESS wear and tear. Maybe it's just me, but I would do without the switch.
Also, I bought a new mast (tape and tool included) for $18.00 from AutoZone and it was IDENTICAL to the one on the car. It'll save you shipping and $12.00
