When I installed mine they touched the door... I didnt like that because over time they will scrape and wear out the door trim...
They look good on your though!

no tools needed!! that slide right in! you just need to slide the bottom lip on the protector into the place lip of the carpet. that is all

You'ld be surprised how much those do protect your sills. I didn't realize it until I saw all the scuff marks on mine.
