The C3. Especially the mid 70s C3. When the C4 came out, those cars were dogged pretty hard.

And before that it was the 58 in particular and the 58-60 in general because they were considered garish. And before that it was all the 53-54s because they had no power.

Now that's even more interesting and it's amazing how things (and opinions) change.

Like implying that someone is a "brown noser" for ageeing that a 4000 dollar car might not be worth the effort (to the person who OWNS the car) to take the car apart to paint it? Maybe that person will be happy with the results of painting his car economically, and the satisfaction of a good result by doing it himself. Someone who has spent 100's of hours restoring their C4 with their own hands would never be considered a hater. You should be very happy with the time and effort you paid someone for your paint, it is beautiful and it is nicer than mine. I think you are a tad misguided with your anger over this....I deleted my own comments on the other thread, the Mods seem to have got yours.

They still get slapped around once in a while. another reason why the C4 gets slapped is because they're affordable to people who either couldn't afford one before or have finally decided the price was worth the fun. That just kills some of the rich boys because some of them think it's their birth right to have, and be able to afford, a vette. When your average joe can afford one, they take offense to it and trash those vettes.

They don't trash the C3 anymore because they are now being recognized for what they are, a vette.

JMO but I could be persuaded differently.

To say that a C4 is not worthy of a disassemble paint job is what you can consider "hate" and not people that start a thread who are curious why people would say these things. It hurts me to hear it to.

Love your C4 or get Honda.....
WTF?

I have the kids around the neighborhood yell out, "Nice car", or a thumbs up all the time. Kids do not care what year it is, all they care about is it is a Corvette. Thank goodness they are our future Corvette owners and fans

Maybe we should star a thread on what a "Corvette Fanatic" is....

I really think before the internet there was no hate or bashing, goes along with before every car had AC there was more waving because windows were down. Far to easy for some clown to get on line and spew there worthless babble and hide behind the net

Nothings changed. Its still the 84 Crossfire. Even Ford owners know about it. Had one Ford guy ask me about the fires. (Yes they are suppose to go on fire. ) Not the 82s, only the 84s. Just go to any corvette show and tell them its a 84. Watch the expression on their faces. They hate the 84 the most. From falling out teeth, to electrical shorts, to the slowest Corvette ever built. This is the one they pick and poke at.

Until the c4 came out there was so such thing as a c1, 2, or 3 in print. Before then it was individual years to compare. The c4 changed the Vette into a different car altogether. No longer the horsepower to push a go-cart to suicide speeds to a refined sports car that used torque and suspension to create a world-class competitor.
Now even there is a breakdown of what c4 is better.

Default Stuffy C5 & C6 Owners

When I bought my 94 coupe, after being away from Corvettes for almost 20 years..I thought it was still like the "old days"...that Corvette owners looked upon all Corvettes as..."cool"

SURPRISE! there now seems to be a pecking order, depending on which model you drive. I found that most C5 and later C6 owners sort of looked down their noses on C4's...even if they had owned one before.
I guess it was because they had the newest, latest, "trendy" technology..and C4's were considered old hat. In some cases these guys had dropped more money into their engine modifications then my Corvette cost to buy.

Back in February, I bought a 2007 coupe..I still have the 94....so now I am accepted by the C5 & C6 owners The difference is, I know where I came from..and still respect and like my 94....I just feel lucky enough to be able to experience both worlds.

I agree that all generations took their turns - I have a neighbor who is in his early 20's and constantly asks me when I'm selling him my C4 and doesn't care for my C3.

The C5's are starting to take a little hit in comparision to the C6 and when the C7 comes out, the C5's and C6's will be looked at differently by some.

To me they're all Corvettes. (When I get a good picture of them both, I will change the Avatar as I like both but for different reasons)
