Default Spare tire?

Anyone know where to get a spare for our cars? 155-70-17, can't find them anywhere, even if mine held air I wouldn't drive 2 blocks with it on its so rotten.

There was a rumor going around about a new GTO tire that would fit, but I have not heard anything else since I saw that post up

We've talked about this a couple times before....check around in the old threads. I asked about placement of the spare in the carrier and I think we got into a conversation about where to find replacement spare tires.

Nobody has that small of a size on a 17" rim, now granted I don't have the spare on the car but if I take a trip its nice to know you have one to at least get you to the next town. I may just have to put one of my full sizers from my other set in the back. The original is rotten from a tank leak.

If I remember correctly somebody suggested that a spare from a Toyota Solara would work...around a 2004 model. I've got my favorite boneyard on the lookout for one but for some reason....people don't seem to be wrecking those cars very often.

astepup said that

The donut spare was missing when I bought my '85. One of the local auto recyclers let me rummage through his collection of donut spares. I had a bolt pattern with me and kept matching it to the dozens of available spares. I found a very new, never been used donut - 15" and took it home to try one for size. It fit nicely but was just barely touching the caliper. I bought a wheel spacer and all is fine. It will be pain if I get a flat on a rear tire because the 15" donut can only be used on the front otherwise the limited slip diff would be getting a serious work out. That was my solution - it'll get me home.
