I put bait stations around the outside foundation, the large type a chipmunk can enter. I also put some inside. I hate to poison them but I have even found chipmunks tunneling in the septic mound and that's just no. Don't forget to mark your territory outside by the foundation. With these measures I have been trouble free.

I use a combination. I have poison in several locations, I use traps (8 or 10 of them) all around the inside walls, and sonic devices.

I live in the country surrounded by corn or bean fields. There are a lot of mice.

Even though it is a new garage that I don't see any gaps for them to get in and all the methods I use, I still get mice in the garage. I make a point of checking the traps daily and a couple times a week I get one. However, the good news is that I get them quick enough that I haven't had any damage to the cars.

I started all of these methods when I had a '94 Corvette that the mice ate the insulation off the fuel injector wiring under the fuel rail covers. They did not break the wires and the car still ran, so I put new insulation on and never had a problem with the car. That scared me enough that I went to using all of the methods.

I HATE MICE!!!!!!!!

I tried everything to keep the mice out. I tried a battery operated electronic mouse trap in the engine compartment once many years ago that was supposed to fry them up. But those damn mice were so smart they must have read the manual. Because when I checked the trap 2 days in, the cover for the batteries was chewed off and the batteries were on the ground! The bait food was gone. I am not making that up. Brilliant little bastards.

They also used to regularly chew through the wiring near the fuel pump. They knew how to keep their new home stationary. My problem stopped when I moved away from the country and built a new, well sealed, garage.

all traps will work granted some critters are smarter. I had one that could out smart any trap. so I had to dumb it up. My exwife would get stupid when she was drunk since I named the mouse after her I tried it on it. I set out two caps one with beer and one with wine. it liked the wine worked first time!!!!!!!
