check engine light issue
About once a month when I start my 85 the check engine light will come on . If I drive it this way it will just sputter down the road. All I do is turn the ignition off ,restart , the light goes off and it drives fine. Any ideas on what would cause this.Thanks , Rich

If the light came on the ECM should have a stored fault code. Pull the code and post it here. The 85 will record several different intermittant codes if certain sensors go out of normal limits. That may be what you are seeing. Pull codes to be sure.

there are 2 relays on firewall behind battery-napa stocks them-but anyway i changed them on my 87 and problem solved and idiot light went out...there sidebyside on mine, i don't know if yours is the same--should be...
